WEDDING FLOWER TIPS

Featuring advice from Emily Radcliff Floral Design:

Need help with how to begin to plan for your wedding flowers?
Our dear friend Emily Radcliff shares some tips for brides and their perfect bouquet!

“A good place to start, when trying to decide on flowers, is to look at pictures of other bouquets and begin to categorize what you like or do not like about them – flower color or type can be changed, so don’t feel like you can’t find the right picture to show exactly what you want.

Your bridal bouquet is one of the best accessories you can have that should compliment your gown, as well as your personality! If you like the idea of paper or fabric flowers, but still want fresh flowers as the main feature – go ahead and incorporate that idea! Have an heirloom or a relic that is special to you? Feel free to ask to have that placed in the design – either in the flowers or on the stem wrap.

Choosing your wedding bouquet is kind of like choosing your bridal gown. Once that design choice is made, then figuring out how all the other floral arrangements should look will fall into place. The floral designs are a depiction of the style of your wedding celebration! Having the right design down the aisle and on the reception tables will add the perfect tone to the entire setting.

Even if you aren’t sure where to begin, presenting the other ideas and details of your wedding day is really helpful for the floral designer to help guide you in learning what style of bouquet and floral arrangements will best represent your style. Bring along anything you may already have to your consultation – color and fabric swatches/pictures, picture or description of your wedding gown, what the bridal party will be wearing – any kind of details that describes how you want your day to look and feel. Even describing your ultimate dream is helpful – even if you think you can’t afford it, a good designer can help find ways to incorporate elements of the “dream” that will help keep the budget in tact.”
