Most brides, on their wedding day at 5:00 AM, are sleeping snugly in their beds with visions of cupcakes and first dances in their heads. Not this bride. She was sipping Starbucks while the finishing touches on her make up were being done.
As I turned the corner and Seri told me, “You have arrived at your location” I had to do a double take. Time was too precious for me to have arrived at the wrong spot. However, Kyle, the groom soon pulled up behind me. The morning sky was just starting to push the deep navy night aside. 30 minutes until sunrise.
We were standing in the warehouse district, at Off the Grid, of downtown Dallas waiting for sunrise. Frost covered the top of a refurbished factory. Red brick walls, old wood floors and steep steep stairs. 20 minutes to sunrise.
At most weddings we are counting down the moments until the sun sets in order to get those magical and golden photos. Kyle and Brittney are so different in so many ways and that’s one thing I love about them. Instead of an evening wedding they were celebrating in the morning, at the start of a new day! 10 minutes to sunrise.
As Kyle stood (almost freezing) on the roof of Off the Grid, Brittney, his bride, was climbing 4 flights of stairs in her wedding dress. She snuck up behind her groom and … tap, tap, tap! Sunrise.
The day was so relaxed and came with good food (a series of good food – Starbucks coffee, Whataburger breakfast, wedding brunch). Lofty Spaces was the perfect venue for this Sunrise Dallas Wedding!
I could go on and on about these two. From when I first met Kyle at an interview, to Facebook stalking Brittney when they started dating (she lived too far away or I’m pretty sure I would have forced her to go to coffee!) to a fun and sweet engagement shoot, now to the wedding day!
Brittney and Kyle –One thing I loved about your wedding day was, even though I have know Kyle for a while and heard all about you, I still learned more about you relationship at the wedding. Everything I learned made me like you more and more! You two are unique (I don’t say that lightly) you have an amazing story to tell and I know you will have an even more amazing one to tell in a few years. I sincerely hope that I get to hear all about it!
