As the weather turns, literally, freezing out I feel so blessed to be snug inside my dining room with a fire blazing. Wait, what? Your dining room? Yea, I know I have a perfectly good office just 20 feet away but today everything went everywhere! Is this a place to call work?
8:00 AM – 49°– painters show up on my doorstep
8:15 AM – 49°– my whole office is moved into the living room
12:00 PM – 42°– I rush home because Kati is coming in early since the news says to, “Stay off the Freeway and don’t drive after dark”
1:00 PM – 40°- Kati, Kyle and I battle paint fumes and technical difficulties galore
2:30 PM – 39° and rainy – It’s Hot Cocoa weather (painters are finished!)
3:00 PM – 38° – Force my decorator (Kati) and mover (Kyle) to help me begin the assembly of the “new” office
7:32 PM – 35°– fire’s died down and I’m still in the dining room
I hope that by tomorrow at some hour we’ll be back to normal and in a fresh new space. I can’t wait to see what it’s like when we redo floors next! There will be before and after pics, don’t worry!
That’s right, #servicewithasmile, so thankful I did not par-take in this day alone!
