Have you ever wondered what it would be like to actually step into Google, look around you at all your options, touch, taste, feel and talk to your search results!? Well that’s almost exactly what a bridal fair is like! You typed into Google – Weddings vendors in , hit enter and then stepped into your computer screen. You get the chance to walk through rows and rows of wedding lovers. Not only do you get to pop as many cupcakes into your mount (or purse?!) as you want but you also get to chat with florists, compare venues and get to know photographers.
Fair warning (hehe, like that play on words?!) – a wedding fair will be overwhelming. But who has ever typed a search into Google and come back with 1 answer? Yea, that doesn’t happen. You get like a million options and like 10 million pages. So when you head to your first wedding fair or show don’t expect 1 or 2 options rather you are a bride or a wedding vendor.
I just love the chance to meet so many sweet, excited and in love brides. This year Kati and Ally came with me and we had a ball. I really enjoyed getting to sit back and watch them share and get to know so many different people. Those two sure are quick on their feet (even if they’re wearing 4 inch heals!). This go around our booth was slightly different from last year. Alright it was a ton different! Jen Brazeal Photography has a new brand, feel and design. Our gray backdrop and artesian couch set up was a fun place to relax. Not that we did much relaxing but a few of the brides did.
One thing I especially loved was how my husband out did himself by helping me out! He not only picked up my U-haul but drove it, gassed it, and loaded it! What would I ever do with out that guy?! I will tell you one thing, we have got to find a lighter backdrop. Our current system is quite heavy and made of ply wood. Any suggestions on how to make an 8 foot tall and 10 foot wide wall that can stand on a base of about 1 foot and hold photos, signs, canvases and lights pleaseeeeeeee comment or email me your ideas. We’ve tried every which way we can imagine but maybe you can imagine something different?
Great bridal show booth ideas are to keep it simple, clean and showcase your area of expertise. If you’re a food vendor, have delicious food, if you’re a florist have insanely beautiful flowers. Don’t go too overboard because bridal shows are already a pretty overboard experience. If you’re a bride be prepared and check out the listing of participants ahead of time. Look at their sites and know who you want to go talk to first. You can save a lot of time meeting people all in one place. However I wouldn’t suggest booking a vendor at a bridal show. The reason why? Unless you’ve met them and talked to them already you may not have a 100% clear idea of how you will mesh. It may also not be a bad idea to gather information and go back home and make comparisons, check out their websites and then set up a meeting for a second look. It’s so important to trust and feel comfortable with the people that are going to be around you on your wedding day. Don’t always go for the bargain instead go for the relationship.
I love the relationships I’ve formed in this industry and career. Not only am I good friends with other wedding vendors but we support each other and laugh with each other. These two are in charge of Unforgettable Floral one of my preferred venders and amazing women/friends!
