Happy 1 Year Anniversary Maggie and Adam! I can’t believe it has been a whole year since our time together. The love that surrounded your barn wedding was undeniable. And of course the beautiful love that filled you tow are bride and groom. All the unique touches and vibrant colors of your wedding remain some of our favorite photos, even a year later!
I recently asked Maggie some throw back questions about her special day! Check out some of her memories and advice to other brides.
1. Looking back, what is the most treasured moment of your wedding?
Maggie: “Our first look! It was so private and special and didn’t take away at all from our ceremony. I felt like since we did it before hand, we could really EXPERIENCE what the day was all about… each other. By doing it this way, we knew the day would end up perfectly. (And so far, I don’t feel like we have been jinxed by seeing each other.)”
2.How was your experience with a First Look? Would you recommend this to other brides?
Maggie: “We talked, read a note, walked around our venue and took some photos that otherwise we wouldn’t have gotten because things got CRAZY after the ceremony. We were able to do all our wedding party pictures and everything before the ceremony and because of that, we were able to enjoy the entire reception since almost all the photos were out of the way (except the big group ones with guests). Another reason I felt like doing them beforehand was such a good choice is that we didn’t have to make our guests wait forever for us to take photos before the could eat!”
Now let’s relive a few special moments from 1 year ago!
3. After 1 year of marriage, what advice would you give future brides or couples?
Maggie: “After one year, I’m not sure I have any golden advice, but what I’ve found is that as long as you keep your equilibrium and know that you’re in it for the long-haul… nothing seems to be too bad. I wrote a letter to Adam for our first anniversary and the biggest thing I realized while I was writing was that we are going to face hardship but there will always be happiness to accompany it; as long as we have each other, nothing is too big.”
4. What’s 1 specific thing you enjoyed about working with JBP?
Maggie: “One thing I loved about working with Jen was she really wanted to make sure that we got exactly what we wanted. She asked us what kind of shots we wanted to have and if there was anything we didn’t like. She made sure to tailor our experience to our needs. Our photos captured our day more perfectly than I could have even hoped and because of her, our day will forever feel like it was just yesterday.”
Thank you for your sweet and helpful answers Maggie! We hope other brides take your advice when deciding on first look and choosing their wedding photographer.
Congratulations, Maggie and Adam! Wishing you both the best!
