As always I just love being part of the behind the scenes action when it comes to proposals! Another ‘just love’ is how this crazy story started off but all pulled together just the way it was supposed to. Both Liz and Chris are from Atlanta, GA and this last weekend Texas, and a lot of the rest of the country, was experiencing some less than ideal weather! Chris’ flight got not only delayed but cancelled, he was googling drive distances last time we spoke. See, Liz had no idea, not one clue he was coming to Texas let alone had a ring in his pocket!
After Liz’s friends sneakily got her to campus Chris was able to ask her to be his wife under the amazing Century Tree on A&M’s Campus, this tree has a neat back story and is over 100 years old. The traditionsays,if a couple walks under the branches of the Century Tree, they will eventually marry. If the proposal takes place under the branches, the marriage is supposed to last forever. As the sun began to slip below the horizon Liz came around the corner and to her surprise saw her sweet boyfriend on one knee!
The surprises didn’t stop there. I hurried over to the Hilton Garden Inn to joinwith the couples friends and family for a surprise engagement party! A surprise it was, the expression on Liz’s face (even sister Erica was excited!) was priceless. I”m so happy I was able to be a part of this special time in both Liz and Chris’ lives! All the best you two love birds!
Special thanks goes to my sweet friend Charlene for connecting me with Chris! You’re such a sweet friends and my business would not be where it is today with out the love and referrals from my friends and family! (Char pictured above back row third from right).
