They both smiled, glanced at each other and said together, “The cake!” This was the response I got from Danielle and Tyler when asked, “What are you most looking forward to about your wedding?” Not a joke, these two were so excited about their wedding cake. Having known each other since 8th grade they had a little bit of dream time. Danielle quick pulled out her phone and started skimming through photos until she found…the one! She flashed me the coolest cake pictures ever saying, “This is what it will look like!” May I just add, that after spending some time with these two and getting to know their history, the cake chosen made a lot of sense. Danielle + Tyler Henkel Hall Wedding had a lot of other fun to mention. This cra-cra wedding party was by far the most excited group about “photo bombing” I’ve seen in a long time! ????
During the ceremony the preacher announced he had been the same one to marry Tyler’s parent over 30 years ago. (He has a pretty good track record!) The afternoon was filled with story telling from cousins, neighbors, good friends and family. Some of my personal favorites were hearing stories of Danielle riding a tractor up and down a dirt road by Tyler’s house. ????
The night included Christmas lights, the Cotten Eyed Joe and the Aggies. Yes, yes. I said the Aggies. You know you’re in Aggieland when the big screen is let down and ESPN is turned on during a wedding reception. The Aggs were playing in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl and people, I don’t care where your loyalties lie,that was a good game!
Henkel Hall is nestled in the small Texas town of Round Top. Located about an hour from College Station or Houston. It’s known for one of the biggest antique shows ever. Henkel Square Market is complete with a white chapel, dance hall, and general store (of course!). If you haven’t made a trip to check in out, I’d strongly suggest it. I even hear they are soon to be featured in a Texas Weddings book coming soon to stores near you ???? .
