I started off a tad on the panicked side. We had such a small shot at making this work. There were around 12variables that all had to align to make exactly 1 hour fall into place. (Traffic was not even one of those variables, traffic = 200 variables)
For whatever reason, we had success. 3 people, 180 miles, 1 day, 1 hour, 1 perfect location and a lot of flexibility right where it was needed!
A good friend, Jules, recommended Dallas Baptist University as the setting for this fall Dallas engagement shoot. She could not have picked a more perfect scene. From ponds and bridges to a boat house and waterfall we had such a relaxed (and a bit chili) afternoon. Rain was slated in the forecast but it held off for the pocket of time we needed, thank you Lord!
My favorite part of the day had to be the question I got over my nerves to ask. Kyle, Brittany and I had all Skyped a while back about their ideas for the wedding day. I got off the Skype call and thought it had gone really well. Kyle and I have known each other for a while so I sort of thought I’d be a part of their big day. However….we talked several times since then and it never came up.
I was pretty sad I wasn’t going to be at their wedding as the photographer but was just curious who they decided to chose to document their day. I got up my nerve to ask at the beginning of the shoot, “So who did you end up finding for your wedding photographer?” What seemed like 3 hours of silence went by (oh gosh, I should not have opened my big mouth). Brittany laughed a little and asked if I was joking….”You, we want YOU” she said.
Kyle thought Brittany told me and Brittany thought Kyle had. Oh young love! ???? I’m so glad I asked, hooray, they picked me!!!
Kyle and Brittany – Youboth hold a special place in my heart. Kyle, you have walked with me through a lot of new times in my business, I can honestly say I would not be where I am now, with out you. Brittany from the first moment Kyle allowed me to stalk you on Facebook I knew you were truly special to him and good things were in store! I can’t wait for your beautiful wedding day, it’s going to be unique and brilliant (just like the two of you!)
