As soon as I pulled up to Boulder Springs, I knew I would be in love with this venue.
I followed a winding road up through the hill country, and needless to say, the drive was breathtaking! The inside of the venue was just as beautiful-decked out with flowers, wooden centerpieces, and lights hanging from the ceiling. When I entered the bride’s room, everyone was extremely relaxed andlaughing about how they thought weddings were supposed to be more stressful. Luckily, this carefree attitude lasted throughout the wedding, even when we were rushing to finish all of our photos before the sun set! I had such an amazing time working with Jess and Jamie and meeting their friends and family throughout the day. It was easy to tell they were surrounded by an incredible group of people on their big day! Overall, the wedding was beautiful-just like Jess and Jamie’s Christ-centered relationship. You can tell by the way Jess and Jamie look at each other that they are meant to be, and I am so blessed I had the opportunity to capture their special day!
Now here are some fun facts about Jess and Jamie!
When and how did you meet?
We met at Abilene Christian University through mutual friends.
Tell me about the moment when you knew he/she was “the one.”
Back at ACU, we used to help teach a dance class one night a week in the Rec Center. Which is a little ironic since when I met Jamie he had two left feet! But over the years, we both got better and enjoyed helping others learn. When we were dancing one evening, he said he thought to himself, “If I could dance like this with only one person for the rest of my life and it was her, I’d be perfectly happy with that.”
How did he propose?
Jamie and I each wanted to go sky diving, and we had decide a long time ago that we would go together. So, we started saving and planning for a skydive trip the summer after Jamie graduated. We invited people to come with us, and I didn’t think anything of it. As it turned out, Jamie had been doing a lot more planning than I knew of! The moment I hit the ground, still a little dazed, he was on one knee right next to me asking me to take another big jump with him. Of course, I said yes and all of our family and friends were there to celebrate with us.
