What a day! This Astin Mansion Wedding was such a fun one! The day started off with thunderstorms and puddles. However when it came time for the bride to walk down the aisle the sidewalk was completely dry. What a stroke of luck!
One of the sweetest moments of the day was the first look that Megan and Robert shared before the ceremony. I love the stair case at Astin Mansion, it provided for a beautiful entry of the bride.
As we all danced into the night so amazing toasts were made and of course the Aggie war hymn (this was an Aggieland wedding after all). My favorite toast was made by the Father of the Bride when he announced that the brides parents and grooms parents meet at A&M and all six graduated from there. In fact the Brides father (also a family friend of ours!) and mother were married not far from the wedding site! I love it!
Megan and Robert – You both have quite a journey ahead of you. Your new adventures and schooling will take you to amazing places (both physical and in your relationship). I have no worries that your friendship and amazing values will get you through it all. Thank you for including me in such a fun(ny) and sweet day!
Q. When and how did you meet?
We met our freshman year at Texas A&M! We lived in the same dorm, and we actually met the day after we moved in for the year! We quickly became friends and decided to officially become a couple about a month later.
Q. What was your first impression of your fiancé?
It was definitely an instant attraction for us. I thought he was super cute and had a great sense of humor (which ended up being spot on)! We easily became friends and soon started dating after that.
Q. What is a favorite memory from when you first started dating?
Our freshman year, we drove through the night from College Station to Galveston just to watch the sunrise together on the beach. It was really fun and unique, and I also got my first (and only) speeding ticket driving back to College Station, which just made it all the more memorable!
Q. Tell me about the moment when you knew he/she was “the one”
I don’t think there was ever ONE true moment when I knew. To me, it was more of us always having a wonderful time together as well as always pushing through the harder times together. We are always so supportive and patient of each other and our goals in life. When we first met, our life goals were fairly different, but since then, we have found a way to combine those goals and create a wonderful life together.
