I want to bring back your creative outlet. A lot of what we mama’s do everyday is routine and necessary. In order to make our little worlds go round we have to run errands, do laundry, dishes and make meals.
How often do we do something, just for fun. Or just because we love doing it?
Not often enough I say.
Today I want to encourage you to do something you love.
I was talking to my old college roommate the other day. Both her boys are going to be FULL time in school next year. One in 1st one in Kinder. We joked about, “all the free time” she would have. But that comment got us both thinking. When was the last time we worked on a hobby? For me that question is tough because technically photography was my hobby but it soon turned into a business…so now what? When was the last time I picked up my camera, just for fun? When was the last time I pulled my sewing machine off the top shelf and made a little quilt block or a fun shift dress??? (Because yes, ladies, I have made my own clothes and – with a little facetime zipper aid from my mother – they turn out kinda cute and one of a kind!)
I don’t write this to make you sigh and think, if only. I write this to encourage your priority setting.
We all say, “I’d work out more if I had more time” but will we ever get a 25 hour day? Nope.
So, move your priorities around a little. This could mean saying, “no” to something but no is like a muscle. The more you use it the stronger it gets. Let’s do this, let’s have a creative outlet this month and see how we feel about it. It’s not work, it’s fun.
