Caitlin and Dave got married atFriends Congregational Churchon a wonderful Saturday afternoon! For a May 31st wedding the weather sure was not showing the season. Okay, yes it was warm but as the sun crept below the tree line and the nuptials were completed the temperature sure was cooperative. There were a few showers here and there before the ceremony (hint the multi-colored umbrella we had to use for the first look) but that did not dampen anyones spirits.

Some of my favorite photos of Caitlin and Dave are the ones we recreated from Caitlin’s mothers wedding day. What a cool idea, I wish I had though of that. Not only was this fun lovin’ couple way laid back but they were also very flexible. They even had the ceremony moved inside so that guests didn’t have to sit out in the sunshine/sprinkles that were so oddly going on at the same time. It sure turns the air muggy, but they were onboard for an indoor ceremony and the result was stunning photos inside the sanctuary.

I absolutely loved getting to know Caitlin and Dave on such a personal level and wish them all the best as they being their married life together, finally in the same city for a long time!

Now I’d love for you to get to know this couple a little better as well…

When did you realize you were in love?

Dave – “As soon as you kissed me, it all came back…for me…”

Caitlin – After being apart for two years (we had broken up when I moved to Texas after dating for three years in college), I invited Dave to get Ethiopian food when I returned to Atlanta for the winter holidays during my second year in graduate school. Assuming that enough time had passed that “we could be friends.” but the second I greeted him at the bar, I knew I was still completely head over heels in love with him and we were inseparable from that point forward.

How did he propose?

Dave flew out to College Station in October of 2012 for a visit. It was raining when he arrived. Per usual, I was starving and insisted we go get food before we did anything else (I have a tendency to get “hangry” if I haven’t eaten in awhile). We went to La Bodega and ate lunch on the porch while we listened to the rain. When we go back to my apartment, Dave told me that he wanted to show me something – he got down on one knee and recited a beautifully prepared speech (which he needed to send to me later because I stopped listening the second he pulled out the most perfect ring ever!). I cried; he cried; everybody cried. It was perfect. ????

If you could hop on a plane and go have dinner for two anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

Valley View Hot Springs in Colorado – it was one of the most unique places I had ever been. There is nothing for miles around aside from a hot springs resort, a gas station with one of the tastiest cafes, and (randomly enough) a clown college. For days, Dave and I hiked, camped, ate, and lounged in hot springs. Hopefully, we’ll be able to return and eat another meal at the hole in the wall cafe.

What is the most romantic thing your fiancé has ever done for you?

Dave – “You sent me coffee that one time…” After we had gotten back together, I surprised Dave with a huge sampler pack of Keurig coffee pods from Amazon.

Caitlin – “Oh man, I’m a bad fiancee…” Dave is one of the most romantic men ever. I’m pretty sure every woman he meets swoons hearing about the stuff he does for me. He writes poetry and always buys me multiple cards for holidays…I am not worthy! ????

Some of the married couples favorites-

Movie:Out Cold – one of the first we watched together and also reminds me of our time working in Colorado
Candy:Dave – maple candy (I always look for it whenever I travel up north) Caitlin – Cadbury Mini Eggs (Dave always makes sure to have way more than I ever need on hand whenever Easter rolls around)
Outdoor: Camping, kayaking, hot springing, hot tubbing, cabin-ing
Book: A Prayer for Owen Meany (Dave’s all-time favorite and now one of mine – if you haven’t read it, you absolutely should!)
Restaurant:Either Bhojanic or Brick Store in Decatur, Georgia (where Dave lived before he moved to Waco). Om nom nom…
Quote: “Finish him!!! Pfft…pfft…pfft…” “What is pfft…pfft…pfft?” “The intestines!”
